HPV Vaccination
Human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide. While many HPV infections clear on their own, certain strains can lead to genital warts and several types of cancer, including cervical, throat, and anal cancer. The HPV vaccine is a safe and highly effective way to protect yourself. Our pharmacy offers private HPV vaccination for both men and women who have not been vaccinated through the NHS schools programme or who want additional protection.
What the HPV Vaccine Protects Against
The Gardasil 9 vaccine protects against nine strains of HPV, including those most commonly linked to:
- Cervical cancer
- Anal cancer
- Throat and mouth cancers
- Genital warts
- Vulval and vaginal cancers
- Penile cancer

The HPV vaccine is recommended for:
- Anyone aged 12 and over who has not been vaccinated through the NHS programme
- Men who have sex with men (MSM)
- Adults who missed the vaccine at school

- Ages 15 and over: Three doses given over 6 months
- Each dose is a quick injection in the upper arm
- Side effects are usually mild: soreness at the injection site, headache, or slight fever
